Img16.jpgFounded in 1918, Rotary Club of Lynn meets every Thursday at The Porthole Restaurant.

Lynn Rotary is part of a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build goodwill and peace in the world. Approximately 1.2 million Rotarians belong to more than 32,000 Rotary clubs located in 166 countries. The world's first service organization, Rotary International has a long history of helping those in need.

The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in the workplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, and violence. They also support programs for youth, educational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self.

Lynn Rotary is involved in many community service projects throughout the year, including ringing the bell for the Salvation Army during the holiday season,  Camp Rotary, and The J. Fergus Gifford Shoe and Stocking Fund,

Camp Rotary is the longest, continually running project of any Rotary Club in the world! Founded in 1921, Camp has been in continuous operation since that time except for a short period during World War II.

If you are new to the area, please stop by for lunch at the Porthole restaurant, Thursday, 12:15,  we'd love to meet you.
